Fani Kayode, a dubious and incurable liar - Governor Shettima

Below is a press statement by the Media aide of Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, discrediting an allegation made by Femi Fani-Kayode about the governor over the murder of an ANPP political candidate during the 2011 elections
"The latest media attack by controversial Chief Femi Fani Kayode issued on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 has once again exposed him as the dubious liar that he was, he is and will forever be when he claimed that Governor Kashim Shettima became candidate of the ANPP in 2011 after the party's flag bearer Fannami Gubio was killed because Shettima came second at the ANPP Governorship primary election that was won by Gubio before he was killed, meaning Shettima stood to benefit from Gubio's killing.
For the sake of putting records in proper perspective and in order to expose Kayode's deliberate falsehood, Governor Kashim Shettima did not participate in the primary election that produced Modu Fannami Gubio as candidate of the ANPP ahead of the 2011 Governorship elections in Borno. This contradicts Kayode's statement yesterday giving an impression that Shettima was second at a primary election that was won by Gubio and so he naturally benefited from Gubio's assassination. Of course, the aim is to mischievously link Shettima with Gubio's killing and this is to support the ongoing propaganda of the billionaire Ex-Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff and the PDP aligned to him to score cheap point ahead of the April 11, Governorship elections. But then, could it be that Kayode was handsomely paid to further that propaganda?

"Well, for the record, the late Gubio contested the 2011 ANPP Governorship primary election with Alhaji Adamu Yuguda Dibal who was the sitting deputy Governor of Borno State under Governor Ali Modu Sheriff. The election held in January, 2011 at Foreshams Hall, a rented event venue, associated with wife of Governor Sheriff, located at Dipcharima road, old G.R.A in Maiduguri. Deputy Governor Dibal and Gubio were the only two aspirants that contested that ANPP Governorship primary elections held at night and Gubio won with 515 votes while the deputy Governor, Dibal got 169 votes. A total of 709 votes were cast by delegates at the primary election that held at Foreshams Hall. This information can be verified from the google search engine and any journalist in Borno State can confirm that. In fact, about two months before the primary elections, Kashim Shettima was one of the four ANPP chieftains that openly declared he had no intention to contest the 2011 Governorship elections, when he was called to speak at an ANPP stakeholders meeting held at the multi purpose hall of the Government House, Maiduguri around November in 2011, which was presided over by then Governor Ali Modu Sheriff and everyone in Borno knows this. Shettima was not among the first three most likely persons to secure the ANPP Governorship ticket either before Gubio's death of after he was killed. Shettima was actually new in the ANPP since he joined the Borno Executive Council only in 2007 as Commissioner of Finance appointed from his position as a General Manager in Zenith Bank.

"Ahead of the 2011 Governorship elections in Borno State, the current Governorship candidate of the PDP in Borno, Alhaji Mohammed Imam was the most likely person to be anointed by Sheriff and everyone knows that Imam was working to marry Sheriff's daughter and be anointed the Governorship candidate as he was about the closest commissioner to Sheriff's immediate family but it was later learnt, Sheriff's extended family opposed Imam's choice before the primary election that was won by Fannami Gubio. So, one could easily say that he stood the clear chance of being anointed by Sheriff but it will be reckless to link Imam with Gubio's death the same way Fani Kayode did. We are not like him. After Gubio was killed on Friday, 28 of January, 2011, Shettima naturally didn't stand the chance of emerging candidate because he didn't take part at the primaries with Gubio contrary to Femi Fani Kayode's fabrication that any curious person can immediately search through the google search engine through political archives in any media house that reported the Borno Governorship elections.

"Around February 7, 2011, stakeholders of the ANPP at an emergency meeting, decided to settle for Kashim Shettima as a neutral person that showed no desperation towards the Governorship and also because Shettima had over the years built tremendous goodwill due to his kindness and generosity to all categories of people in Borno State since his days as branch manager of Zenith bank in Maiduguri whose bank was the number one financial institution dealing with numerous public and private accounts. After Shettima was adopted by ANPP stakeholders, his nomination was affirmed by delegates at another primary election that held in February, 2011 and nobody contested against him, including the Deputy Governor that came second in the first primary election that produced Gubio. The reason was because most stakeholders liked Shettima's absolute humility, harmlessness, friendliness and kindness and he has maintained such unique attributes till date and this is why, 90 percent of the defunct ANPP (now APC) stakeholders including those that were very close to Sheriff refused to abandon Shettima for the PDP. They remained with Shettima instead of crossing over to PDP with Sheriff in 2014. We please advise ignorant Kayode to do some research before making statements so that he doesn't keep embarrassing our President and the PDP. Femi Fani Kayode seem to be one that knows very little and thinks he knows so much. He should know that he speaks for the Presidency and not his ignorant self, he should learn to take very little time to get his facts right. We understand the extent of hatred he has built in his desperate heart for no reason but he should control the hatred and at least say what he can defend not making dubious falsehoods that keep exposing him. Being a spokesman goes beyond speaking Queen's English, it is about accuracy that should earn one the trust of his listeners," the statement read.

10yr old dies after classroom roof falls on pupils, teachers in Ogun

A 10year old Primary five pupil, Fibian Lawal died on the spot while some of her classmates and their teacher sustained injuries after the roof of their classroom at the Local Government Primary School Ajeregun in Ogun state crashed down on them when it started raining heavily on Monday March 9th.

Investigations by Punch revealed that the school building where this unfortunate incident happened was built in 1955 when the school was established. A newly constructed building was by the side of the old school building which was not in use. According to the teachers in the school, they were not making use of the new building even though it was completed in 2014 because it had not been commissioned by the state government.
One of the pupil of the school, Adijat Ohize, while giving an account of what happened said “We had finished school but we were all waiting for lesson when it began to rain. The other teachers left the school and their pupils, but our aunty did not leave. The rain was blowing into the classroom and our aunty said we should all run to a private school beside our school. I ran and got there, but as Fibian stepped out of the class, her shoes got stuck in the mud on the ground. She started struggling to get out.”she said

Fibian’s younger brother, Okiki also explained what happened “When the teacher asked us to go to the private school because of the rain, I first ran under a mango tree. I saw my sister struggling and I went to help her, but the roof fell on her. My hand was injured. I started shouting her name, but she did not answer me.”.
The mother of the deceased little girl, Mrs Olushola Lawal, said Fabian was the hope of her family as she was a very intelligent girl who was a good writer. She said he had given her and Okiki N1,200 on the day of the incident as the family’s contribution for a new teacher employed by the school.
“It was her younger brother, Okiki, that cried home and said Kemi (Fibian) had died after the roof fell on her. I couldn’t believe it and people kept deceiving me that she was in the hospital. She was a good writer and could draw anything perfectly. She would just ask you to sit and she would draw you. She had a note for drawing. She always said she would take care of me when she grew older. I wish I had died in her place.”
When contacted and asked why the pupils were not making use of the newly constructed school building, the state Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, John Odubela said there were procedures to be followed before the handing over of such new classrooms.
"The new building was recently completed and there is a procedure to be followed when a building is completed. The contractor will have to file notice, among other things. As we speak now, they have opened the new one for the pupils to use. Government officials from the local government area and the State Universal Basic Education Board have visited the family; they were at the girl’s burial. The head teacher of the school did not inform us on time"he said.
Meanwhile the little girl has since been buried.

"[The money] goes into a trust. He can’t even touch it until he turns 18," he said. "He’ll get $700,000 to be the face of the company. Already, he’s making his own money. He makes his own money!"

"I have so much fun with him, man; even my spirit changed," he added. "I light up when I talk about him. He's at the point where he repeats everything."

APC To Release Documentary On Alleged Gay Sex In Aso Rock

Femi Fani-Kayode has announced that the APC is plotting to expose details about the private lives of President Goodluck Jonathan, First Lady, Patience Jonathan and Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke and some of the allegation bothers on Gay sex.

Fani-Kayode said that the APC is planning to reveal the intimate secrets via a documentary sponsored by its leaders.

The statement reads:

“We invited you here today to intimate the Nigerian people, through your esteemed media organisations, about a despicable and wicked agenda that is being orchestrated by the opposition to scandalise, undermine and bring into disrepute our candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan (GCFR), his wife, the First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan, our Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Allison Maduekwe and other key government functionaries and members of his administration.”

“The special operations and intelligence wing of my Directorate has been reliably informed that the opposition is planning to air a documentary about the private lives of President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Minister of Petroleum Resources.”

“The documentary is riddled with falsehood and it is vulgar, smutty, cheap, shameful and salacious. This initiative is being spearheaded by the entire leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is being funded and organised by two serving governors and one former governor who controls his state through his hand-picked stooge.”

“Our response to this initiative is one of utter repugnance. That the opposition has degenerated to such a point that in response to legitimate questions that were raised about the record in public office of their Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and their de facto leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in two major and widely viewed documentaries, the only recourse they have, rather than answering the questions put in those documentaries, is to try to humiliate, shame and disgrace our presidential candidate by making the most baseless and scandalous accusations about his private life. The truth is that this shameful course of action will not work and we shall not be distracted. Neither will we lose any sleep over it.”

“We are, however, by this press conference, sending a clear signal to the three APC leaders that are funding and spearheading this initiative that it will not in any way serve the interest of their party or the interest of their Presidential candidate if they insist on treading that path or toeing that deplorable line.”

“In the event of them insisting on treading this dangerous and dishonorable course, we reserve the right to respond fully and use all legitimate means to expose the inherent evil that these three individuals habitually and continuously manifest in both their private lives and whilst in public office.”

“The truth is that they can say what they like about President Goodluck Jonathan, his family members and those close to him but one thing they cannot say is that, unlike one of the three individuals that is behind this disgraceful initiative, President Jonathan does not show an unhealthy interest in the affairs of little boys and he does not indulge in gross and perverse intimate acts with them in his spare time in an obscene, indecent, shameful and completely unacceptable manner.”

“They can say whatever they like about our candidate but, unlike one of the three individuals that are behind this reprehensible initiative, it is not President Goodluck Jonathan that ended up eloping with and eventually marrying the house girl of his former leader.”

“They can say whatever they like about President Jonathan but it is not our President who drove his own father into political oblivion, broke the poor man’s heart and sent him to an early grave in pain, tears, defeat and shame. Presidential Jonathan did not do any of these things. It is those that have insisted on engaging in this shameful and repugnant initiative that have done these things.”

“They know who they are and, for now, we need not mention their names. At the appropriate time, we shall mention names and expose every aspect of the sordid life styles of these individuals and at that time the Nigerian people will judge for themselves.”

“The second issue we want to touch on today is the shameful proposition that was made to General Muhammadu Buhari by the representatives of a number of western governments when he was in the United Kingdom for a prolonged stay. He had appealed to them for support and to get their endorsement. He had talks with the representatives of at least four western countries. The leaders of those countries made an offer to General Muhammadu Buhari and we are reliably informed that he has put the offer under consideration.”

“The proposition and offer was that if he was prepared to support legislation in Nigeria to allow same sex marriage and if he was prepared to repeal the anti-gay laws in Nigeria they will, in return, endorse, support and fund him, initially covertly and eventually publicly, at the right time.”

“Instead of outrightly rejecting these offers and spurning this proposition, to our utter shock and consternation, General Buhari apparently refused to rule it out and has put the matter under consideration. Instead of him to say NO he assured them that he would consider these two things. We believe that this is a matter that ought to be brought to the attention of the Nigerian people as a matter of urgency.”

“The APC are so desperate to ensuring that General Buhari becomes the President of this country that they are actually prepared to consider the scrapping of all anti-gay or anti-homosexual legislations and at the same time, endorsing and supporting fresh legislation that would allow same sex marriage in our country. They are considering this despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of the Nigerian people find same sex marriage and, indeed, homosexuality repugnant and unacceptable.”

“We are using this occasion to challenge General Buhari to come clean and to tell the Nigerian people whether this is true and whether, in the unlikely event of his being elected President, he is seriously considering scrapping the anti-homosexual laws in our country and pushing through new legislation which would allow same sex marriage.”

“The third issue is as follows. We read, with amusement, the threat by the Buhari’s Campaign Organisation through their spokesperson, Mr Garba Shehu, that it is their intention to drag the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, before the International Criminal Court of Justice (ICC), for allegedly indulging in what they described as ''hate speech'' at a recent rally in Rivers State.”

“Dame Patience Jonathan is a woman of peace. She did not threaten anyone with violence; she did not incite anyone to commit violence or to kill others and her words have not resulted in death, mass murder or any crimes against humanity. We therefore completely reject the baseless charge and assertion that she has called for the killing or slaughter of anyone at any point in time.”

“Their threat to take the First Lady to the ICC is not only absurd but it is also nothing but the empty and boastful ranting of a perfidious, desperate, decaying and dying political party and such threat will amount to nothing. The truth is that if anybody is a candidate for the ICC, it is certainly not Dame Patience Jonathan, but rather General Muhammadu Buhari himself.”

“We say this because, firstly, he needs to answer questions about his role in the July 29, 1966 coup and the mass murder of about 300 Igbo army officers, including a serving Head of State, that took place that night. Secondly, there are questions to be answered about his role during the pogrom and massacre in northern Nigeria in 1966 in which no less than 100,000 innocent Igbo civilians, including women and children, were slaughtered in cold blood by mobs that were covertly armed and supported by a small handful of junior army officers.”

Fani-Kayode also condemned the APC for allegedly spying on the PDP.

Jonathan Accuses Buhari Of Gay Pledge To World Powers Over Election

President Goodluck Jonathan has accused his main challenger in March 28 election, Muhammadu Buhari, of assuring western nations of his preparedness to support same-sex marriage if he wins the forthcoming polls.

Mr. Jonathan, who spoke through his campaign organization, said Mr. Buhari made the pledge to secure the support of the countries to win election.

Femi Fani-Kayode, the Spokesperson of President Jonathan, said four western countries extracted a commitment from Mr. Buhari, who represents the All Progressives Congress, to support a legislation enabling same sex marriage.

Amid a flurry of apparently election-fuelled allegations, the claim by the Jonathan camp Wednesday seemed one of the most serious.

Still, Mr. Fani-Kayode, reputed for making unsubstantiated allegations against political opponents, refused to give the names of the four countries he was referring to.

Mr. Buhari, seen by his supporters as a non-nonsense former military leader, whose brief administration in the 1980s waged campaigns against indiscipline and corruption, has not given any hint suggesting he would condone same-sex relationship, already outlawed in Nigeria.

Nigeria’s National Assembly has already passed a bill making gay marriage a criminal offense, and offenders risk spending 14 years in jail if convicted.

But addressing a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja, Mr. Fani-Kayode said the proposition was made to Mr. Buhari by the representatives of a number of western governments when he was in the United Kingdom recently.

Mr. Fani Kayode said Mr. Buhari had appealed to the western leaders for support and to get their endorsement.

“He had talks with the representatives of at least four western countries. The leaders of those countries made an offer to General Muhammadu Buhari and we are reliably informed that he has put the offer under consideration.

“The proposition and offer was that if he was prepared to support legislation in Nigeria to allow same sex marriage and if he was prepared to repeal the anti-gay laws in Nigeria they will, in return, endorse, support and fund him, initially covertly and eventually publicly, at the right time,” he said.

He also said that instead of out rightly rejecting these offers and spurning this proposition, Mr. Buhari “apparently refused to rule it out and has put the matter under consideration.

“Instead of him to say NO he assured them that he would consider these two things.

“We believe that this is a matter that ought to be brought to the attention of the Nigerian people as a matter of urgency,” he said.

Mr. Fani-Kayode added that the APC are so desperate to ensure that Mr. Buhari becomes the President of Nigeria that they are actually prepared to consider the scrapping of all anti-gay or anti-homosexual legislations and at the same time, endorsing and supporting fresh legislation that would allow same sex marriage in the country.

“They are considering this despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of the Nigerian people find same sex marriage and, indeed, homosexuality repugnant and unacceptable.

“We are using this occasion to challenge General Buhari to come clean and to tell the Nigerian people whether this is true and whether, in the unlikely event of his being elected President, he is seriously considering scrapping the anti-homosexual laws in our country and pushing through new legislation which would allow same sex marriage,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said.

My Wife Became Pregnant With A 3rd Child Without Me Touching Her

A real estate developer, Abraham Okoro, yesterday told a Lagos Magistrate’s court sitting in Ikeja how his estranged wife, Adedoyin Ogunmefun (nee Ajaba) allegedly brought another man’s pregnancy to his house pleading with him to accept it.

Okoro, who was giving evidence before Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe, said trouble started after the defendant lost her father in July 2000.

He said after the burial, his mother in-law, who was planning to go back to America a few weeks after, called a family meeting and said things were going to be difficult for the family after the demise of her husband.

Okoro added that after he enquired from his mother in- law what the matter was, he bought her a car to enable her move round.

The complainant, who said he formally married the defendant on June 17, 2006 and paid her dowry after two children, said he bought air ticket for his estrange wife, his two children and the mother in-law in July 2006 shortly after their marriage, for a vacation in US, stating that at the end of July, the wife came back to Nigeria and ran away with her two children on August 6, 2006.

He said she switched off her phone, but that they started living together again on Valentine ’s Day of 2007.

He said his wife then became pregnant and that he rejected his wife and mother-in-law’s pleading that he accept the pregnancy, because he had not touched her since the problems began.

Magistrate Komolafe adjourned the matter till April 8 for continuation of trial.
