Real Madrid are desperate to keep hold of Sergio Ramos, so desperate in fact that they are asking Manchester United for £65 million.
Real Madrid put huge price tag on Ramos - Our lead story this morning comes from the Daily Mail, who claim that Real Madrid are asking as much as £65m for defender Sergio Ramos. Madrid have already turned down an offer of £35m from United and are said to be desperate to cling onto the player, with president Florentino Perez personally calling him to assure him he will get a new deal on favourable terms. Says the paper: "Madrid are increasingly concerned that the player has made up his mind to leave the Bernabeu after 10 years and may ultimately have to be sold. They will try to put United off by slapping a £65m price tag on Ramos after rejecting the opening offer. There is still a suspicion that the 29-year-old is using the situation to force a better deal out of his club, but United are determined to pursue their interest."
